Purpose

Originated by High Chief Priest Sola Atanda PhD, in 2001, Sacramento Water Festival has been observed annually at the “DISCOVERY PARK” in Sacramento, California. Now in it's 24th year, the festival continues to educate people about the importance of water in our lives and the similar views held about water and the need to protect and conserve this precious element, in all cultures of the world.

Theme

The 2026 Sacramento Water Festival is an international festival that has as its theme

"Water Care is Life Care: Water is Life ". The festival will feature special sessions with guardians of Freshwater in Traditional societies, demonstrations, visual arts, and performances that will raise awareness about the role of water on earth and our responsibility as dwellers of the land.
